Former Liverpool stars are set to make a return to Anfield
|The Former Liverpool stars are all set to make a comeback at the Anfield as the Mersyside club have organised a friendly match between the Ex-Liverpool stars and the current Liverpool squad on 29th March 2015.
The purpose of a friendly game is to pay a tribute to the Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard ahead of his move to MLS side La Galaxy at the end of the season, with whom he has penned a two-year deal.
Liverpool fans will be excited to see the players including Fernando Torres, Luis Suarez, Xabi Alonso, Javier Mascherano and Pepe Reina, who all have been contacted by Gerrard to participate in his testimonial match.
It will be interesting to see fans reaction on Torres’s return at Anfield as he was sold to the Premier League leaders Chelsea for £50 million. While the goal scoring machine Luis Suarez left for Barcelona last summer and Xabi Alonso, who joined the European champions Real Madrid after his departure from Liverpool.
Gerrard’s final appearance for his boyhood club Liverpool is likely to be against Crystal Palace at Anfield, on May 16.
