Liverpool Transfer News: Hull City Want £40m for Goalkeeper Konstantinos Tzolakis

Liverpool are reportedly monitoring Hull City goalkeeper Konstantinos Tzolakis, but Spanish outlet Fichajes claims any deal would come at a hefty price.

Hull City Set a £40m Valuation

The Greece international joined Hull from Olympiacos in the summer for around £20m. The 23-year-old has made a strong start in England, keeping several clean sheets and quickly raising his profile.

Hull are said to value him at £40m, double what they paid. Olympiacos kept a 15 per cent sell-on clause, which gives the Tigers extra reason to demand a premium. Tottenham Hotspur are also reportedly keeping tabs on him, strengthening Hull’s negotiating position.

Why a Move Is Complicated for Liverpool

Liverpool already have plenty of goalkeeping options. Alisson Becker, Giorgi Mamardashvili and Vítezslav Jaros are all on the books, while Lucca Brughmans is due to arrive in 2027. A serious approach for Tzolakis would first require the Reds to clear some of that congestion.

A departure next summer could change things. Tzolakis’s age and previous experience with Olympiacos and Greece would make him a lower-risk long-term investment than most young goalkeepers.

Hull Under No Pressure to Sell

Having spent heavily only months ago, Hull can afford to be patient. They can watch his development and wait for the right offer rather than react to speculation.

Our View

Tzolakis fits the profile Liverpool tend to target, but spending £40m on a fourth or fifth-choice goalkeeper looks hard to justify at this stage. Alisson is still elite, and Mamardashvili was signed with the future in mind.

Hull, meanwhile, hold all the cards. A young, in-form goalkeeper on a fresh contract is not something clubs sell cheaply, and £40m may simply reflect how rarely top-level goalkeeping talent comes to market. If Liverpool’s plans in goal change, they may have to accept the premium.
