Liverpool Set Sights on Federico Chiesa

Liverpool’s pursuit of Federico Chiesa is heating up as they aim to bolster their attacking options amidst competition from Chelsea and Manchester United. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport via Paisley Gates, the Reds have shown keen interest in the Juventus forward, who has had a rocky spell in Turin marred by injuries.

Chiesa, who joined Juventus from Fiorentina in late 2020 on an initial loan that became permanent in 2022, was once hailed as one of Italy’s brightest young talents. However, his progress has been hampered by a serious knee injury, leading to a less-than-ideal tenure at the club. Despite Juventus’ new boss Thiago Motta seeing potential in Chiesa, the club seems ready to part ways with him, especially with only 12 months left on his contract.

Liverpool’s interest could see them pitted against Chelsea and Manchester United. Both clubs have their own reasons for eyeing the 26-year-old winger, Mn United’s uncertain futures for Jadon Sancho and Mason Greenwood, and Chelsea’s inconsistent performances from Raheem Sterling and Mykhailo Mudryk.

For Liverpool, Chiesa’s potential acquisition would address the uncertainty surrounding Luis Diaz’s future and add dynamism to their left flank. With a reported asking price of €30-€40 million, Liverpool might find Chiesa to be a valuable asset who can bring creativity and a forward threat to Anfield.
