Aurelien Tchouameni on Liverpool radar?

Liverpool have reportedly set their sights on a deal for Real Madrid midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni during the upcoming summer transfer window.

The Frenchman impressed at Monaco and was pursued by several top European clubs in 2022, including multiple English clubs, with Liverpool being one of them. However, the midfielder ultimately decided to join Real Madrid in a deal that could eventually reach €100m.

The 23-year-old has received regular game time at the Bernabeu, making 28 starts and 14 substitute appearances across all competitions. Los Blancos will likely want to continue seeing Tchouameni play frequently, given the significant amount they invested in him.

However, reports suggest that Jude Bellingham is also likely to be a midfield option for Real Madrid in the upcoming season, and is expected to play a prominent role in the centre of the pitch.

In addition, the European champions are currently in the process of renewing contracts with midfielders Toni Kroos and Luka Modric, which could potentially push Tchouameni down to fifth in the pecking order.

As a result, Liverpool are reportedly keeping a close eye on the situation and may consider renewing their interest in the player.

According to a report by 90min, the Reds may try to secure a season-long loan deal to bolster their midfield for the upcoming season, as they are expected to lose Naby Keita, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, and James Milner on free transfers at the end of their contracts.
