Arsenal to make move for Noah Okafor

Arsenal are reportedly contemplating a move for Red Bull Salzburg striker Noah Okafor, according to the Daily Mail.

The Gunners have had an outstanding Premier League season, currently sitting eight points clear at the top of the table with 69 points from 28 matches.

However, injuries to Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah have left the Premier League leaders short in the final third on occasions. Mikel Arteta has the option of promoting Folarin Balogun to the senior squad next season after his impressive loan spell at Reims. But, at present, it appears that the Gunners are likely to sell the England Under-21 international as they are to give him another chance with the first team.

As per the Daily Mail, Arsenal are keeping close tabs on Noah Okafor. Despite being overshadowed by other players at the Austrian club, the 22-year-old is highly-regarded and has contributed 34 goals and 23 assists in 108 appearances for Salzburg.

With less than 16 months remaining on his contract, a summer exit is expected, and Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United are also said to be interested in the Swiss attacker.

AC Milan and Inter Milan are also believed to be admirers, particularly given the player’s potentially cut-price fee. While no specific fee is suggested, Okafor is valued at €22m (£19.3m) by Transfermarkt, taking into account his contract situation.
