Man United in Advanced Talks for Rasmus Hojlund: €50 Million Opening Bid Imminent

Manchester United are in advanced negotiations with Atalanta to secure Rasmus Hojlund in a deal, with a €50 million opening bid set to be submitted shortly.

The talks have progressed well, and personal terms with the striker have already been agreed upon. The Red Devils are determined to sign a new centre-forward before the upcoming season, and Hojlund has emerged as their primary target.

The 20-year-old striker gained attention after impressing with 12 goals in 21 games for Sturm Graz in 2022. Atalanta signed him for around £15 million last summer, and his stock rose further after scoring 10 goals in 34 appearances during his debut season for the club, along with a hat-trick on his Denmark debut.

While Hojlund’s goal-scoring numbers may not be overwhelming, given his age, the Denmark international is considered a promising talent who could further develop under Erik ten Hag at Manchester United. The player himself, being a boyhood fan of the club, has expressed a keen interest in moving to the Theatre of Dreams.

Manchester United are prepared to offer Hojlund a five-year contract, with an option to extend for another year. However, there is a disparity in valuation, with Atalanta valuing him at £86 million while Man United aim not to exceed £60 million due to his limited experience in Europe’s top five leagues.

In the meantime, Atalanta are making progress in securing El Bilal-Toure from Villarreal as a replacement for Hojlund.
