Leeds United keen on Hakan Calhanoglu
|Leeds United have reportedly “explored” the possibility of signing Inter Milan’s Hakan Calhanoglu.
Due to financial challenges, Nerazzurri may consider offloading some of their star players during the next transfer window.
Calhanoglu, whose contract expires in 12 months, could be sold in the summer transfer window to avoid losing him for free next year.
Having made a significant impact for the Italian outfit since his move from AC Milan, the Turkey international is well-known across Europe for his exceptional set-piece abilities, having scored 11 goals and registered 19 assists in 78 matches.
According to Football Insider, Leeds United have reached out to Calhanoglu’s representative to inquire about his availability to leave the club.
Whether the 29-year-old will join Leeds or not will hinge on their ability to remain in the Premier League this season.
Despite appointing Javi Gracia as their manager, the Yorkshire giants are currently positioned just above the relegation zone. They moved out of the bottom three with a victory over Nottingham Forest during the last weekend.
