Newcastle United interested in Tiago Djalo
|Newcastle United have reportedly set their sights on a deal for Lille for centre-back Tiago Djalo.
The 22-year-old has reportedly caught the attention of the Magpies, as per Inter Live.
The Premier League outfit remain interested in Djalo and are willing to pay approximately €20 million to sign the Portuguese defender in the summer. However, whether this amount will meet Lille’s demands is uncertain.
The fact that the centre-back is entering the final year of his contract could work in the Magpies’ favour when negotiating a potential transfer.
If the deal goes through, the youngster would be joining a team with the best defensive record in the Premier League, conceding only 15 goals this season.
Newcastle are also on the lookout for reinforcements in full-back positions. They have expressed interest in Arsenal’s Kieran Tierney and Valladolid’s Ivan Fresneda.
Adding Djalo to the team would be a wise decision for Eddie Howe, who have been cautious with their signings since the club’s high-profile takeover last year.
