Arsenal revamp interest in Lautaro Martinez

Arsenal have reportedly stepped up their interest in Inter Milan forward Lautaro Martinez.

Although the Gunners are currently enjoying one of their best Premier League seasons in recent times and are three points ahead at the top of the table.

Football Insider reports that Mikel Arteta’s side are contemplating making an offer for the Argentina international.

The North Londoners have reportedly admired the Argentine for a long time. This season, in particular, the 25-year-old has been in impressive form, contributing 13 goals and five assists from his 28 appearances in Serie A and the Champions League.

However, Martinez’s goal-scoring contributions have often been sporadic, and he failed to score in the 240 minutes of play for his country during the World Cup.

Despite having a contract until 2026, the report indicates that Nerazzurri may be willing to sell Martinez if they receive a bid of over £70m.

The Premier League leaders have reportedly contacted Martinez’s representatives, and they are considering making a formal offer for him during the summer transfer window.
