World Cup 2014: Argentina beats Bosnia 2-1

The Argentine star Lionel Messi scored a brilliant goal and helps his side to start their World Cup 2014 campaign in style after securing 2-1 win over Bosnia-Hercegovina in their first group game at Rio de Janeiro’s Maracana on Sunday.

In the third-minute of a game, own goal by Bosnian defender Sead Kolasinac put Argentina in the lead.

The four-time Balloon d’or winner Messi finally kicked off his 2014 World Cup campaign with his first goal in the 65th minute.

The 26-year-old striker picked up the ball just inside Bosnia’s half and then hit a kick from 20 yards to deliver the ball inside the net and succeeded in second World Cup goal of his career so far.

Despite losing the match, Bosnia is hopeful to make into the round of 16 from this group ahead of the other two groups – Iran and Nigeria.
