Tottenham on the verge of snapping up Barca starlet Riqui Puig

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly close to completing a deal to sign Riqui Puig from Barcelona this summer.

The 18-year-old midfielder has trained with the Barcelona first team and made his debut for their second-string outfit in February as a substitute against Gimnastic.

However, the teenager has not been able to agree terms over a new contract with the Catalans and is now expected to leave the Spanish club as a result.

According to The Daily Mail, Puig is eager to join Tottenham Hotspur, although there is also understood to be potential suitors from other European clubs.

Puig’s recent performance during UEFA Youth League final win over Chelsea has increased the interest in him further, although the youngster is thought to favour a move to Spurs.

Tottenham Hotspur have also been linked with a couple of players with the likes of Anthony Martial, Wilfried Zaha and Ryan Sessegnon, with manager Pochettino keen to bolster his squad ahead of next season.
