The 26-year-old centre-back was once a key figure in the Blaugrana backline, but the arrival of Hansi Flick has seen his role diminish significantly. The German tactician is said to have different plans for his defensive setup, and Araujo may not feature prominently in them. Despite signing a contract extension until 2031 earlier this year, the Uruguayan could be tempted to seek a new challenge if his playing time continues to dwindle.
