Liverpool Transfer: Top 3 players to replace Luis Suarez at Anfield
|FIFA have announced on Thursday afternoon that Uruguay and Liverpool star Luis Suarez will be banned for four months from all forms of football including nine official international matches.
The four months ban has been announced after the biting incident in which the 27-year-old Uruguayan international bit Italian defender Giorgio Chiellini during Uruguay’s 1-0 victory over Azzurri.
The Reds are now concerned of being without Suarez’s services until November 1, 2014 but at the same time – FIFA have made it clear that Suarez would be allowed to transfer between the clubs this summer. This brings the speculation that Suarez will now switch to one of the La Liga giants – Barcelona or Real Madrid.
After this, Liverpool are reportedly looking to cash in on Suarez and use those funds to bolster the squad ahead of next season. TheFootballSaga have made a top-three player’s lists who might be able to replace the controversial Suarez.
Alexis Sanchez (Barcelona FC)
Barcelona forward Alexis Sanchez has been strongly linked with a move to Anfield for some time.
However, the Chile international has struggled to make an impact at the Camp Nou, netted 47 times and provided 37 assists in 141 appearances over the past couple of seasons.
The 25-year-old would be a huge boost for Liverpool and it could be the perfect start for his career at Premier League.
Xherdan Shaqiri (Bayern Munich FC)
Bayern Munich midfielder Xherdan Shaqiri looks set to move away from Allianz Arena following a frustrating season with the German Champions.
The 22-year-old Swiss international has made 17 league appearances and scored six goals for the Bavarians last season. He recently scored a stunning hat-trick for his country at World Cup 2014, now has been heavily linked with Liverpool for some time.
Pedro (Barcelona FC)
According to reports from the Express, Barcelona are keen on bringing Suarez to the Camp Nou this summer and are said to be prepared to throw in both Pedro and Alexis to get the deal done.
The 26-year-old Spaniard enjoys playing either side of the pitch as striker or winger in the wider positions.
