Ronaldo fans rejoice after the Portuguese nets 500th goal

Real Madrid talisman Cristiano Ronaldo scored his 500th career goal in club’s 2-0 win over Swedish outfit Malmo in the Champions League group stage encounter.

The Powerhouse striker celebrated his achievement on Instagram in a true sporting fashion, combined it with Nike shoes.

The 30-year-old Portuguese superstar has also drawn level with Raul as the Madrid’s most prolific goalscorer with 323 in 741 games.

Ronaldo said: ‘I’m very happy. First of all because the team won. But I won’t lie to you. I really wanted to beat Raul’s record.

I’m thinking about the next game, I’ll sleep happy tonight. But Sunday we have another game, another derby [Atletico on Sunday] against a fantastic team and we should win.’

‘So I’m happy today – great for Real Madrid, great for me, great for the club.’

Ronaldo joined the La Liga giants from Manchester United in 2009 was then a world record fee of £80 million, has scored 322 goals in 308 matches.
