Robin van Persie ‘unhappy’ for being benched

Fenerbahce striker Robin van Persie has criticised head coach Vitor Pereira after losing his starting place on Sunday’s victory over Bursaspor.

The 32-year-old came off the bench in the 77th minute and scored to help his side a 2-1 win over struggling Bursaspor .

However, the Dutchman told Lig TV afterwards: “To be honest, I am not very happy at this moment.

“I was not happy that I started on the bench. I am fully fit, physically very well and able to play for 90 minutes.

“The only right answer I could give was with what I did: helping the team to get the victory.”

Persie (Former Man United and Arsenal striker) left Old Trafford in August, and has scored three goals in nine appearances for the Turkish giants, who sit top of the Super Lig with 13 points from five games.
