Report: Liverpool lining up Mario Gotze swoop
|Liverpool have reportedly stepped up their interest in signing Borussia Dortmund midfielder Mario Gotze, according to The Mirror.
The Germany international was is said to be on the radar of Reds manager Jurgen Klopp last summer, but he opted to return to Westfalenstadion from the Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich instead.
However, the 24-year-old has failed to make an impact as he did under Klopp at Dortmund, struggling to nail down a first-team place in Thomas Tuchel’s squad.

The report suggests that the playmaker is now considering a move away from the German football in the hope for a fresh challenge, and may be tempted to join up with his compatriot at the Merseyside giants.
Gotze has earned 62 caps for Germany and has scored 17 times, including the winner in the 2014 FIFA World Cup final against Argentina.
