Newcastle join race to sign Nicolo Zaniolo
|Newcastle United are reportedly interested in Nicolo Zaniolo from Galatasaray for a potential summer transfer.
The 23-year-old midfielder has been attracting attention following his impressive performances in Istanbul, scoring five goals in his first ten Turkish Super Lig starts.
This has reignited the interest of clubs like Tottenham Hotspur and Juventus, who had previously shown interest in him during the January transfer window.
Newcastle’s pursuit of the Italian aligns with their desire to strengthen their midfield under manager Eddie Howe, who has already brought in promising midfielder Sandro Tonali.
However, Galatasaray are reluctant to let go of Zaniolo, rejecting a €25 million offer from an unnamed club this summer. While there might be a release clause in Zaniolo’s contract, activating it could bypass negotiations with the Turkish club.
The Magpies sees Zaniolo as an exciting addition due to his technical skills, physical strength, and ability to perform in crucial moments
Italian clubs are also keeping an eye on Zaniolo, but Newcastle’s interest might make it challenging for them to bring him back to his home country. Additionally, there has been serious interest from Saudi Pro League outfit Al-Hilal for a lucrative move in recent days.
