Man United, PSG to battle for Raphael Varane

Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain will reportedly go head to head for Real Madrid centre-back Raphael Varane in this summer’s transfer window.

The France international has enjoyed a legendary career at the Bernabeu, helping the club to 18 silverware since his arrival in 2011.

However, with less than 18 months left to run on his contract, the 27-year-old defender is said to be contemplating a fresh challenge.

According to Marca, Los Blancos are open to selling the Frenchman in the summer if he does not sign on fresh terms.

The report goes on to claim that Man United and PSG are long-term admirers of the full-back, who could be available for a fee somewhere in the region of £45m.

As a result of the coronavirus pandemic, the Spanish champions will not risk losing one of their key players on a free transfer next year.
