Man United plot summer move for Robert Lewandowski

Manchester United have reportedly placed emphasis on signing Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski in the summer transfer window.

The 33-year-old, who is contracted to the Bavarians until June 2023, and there has been a host of speculation surrounding his future at Allianz Arena.

Bayern CEO Oliver Kahn said that the club would soon have discussions with the Poland international about his future, but the frontman recently said that he was “open to everything”.

A number of clubs, including Chelsea, Manchester City, Atletico Madrid, Barcelona and Real Madrid, are thought to be keeping a close eye on the player’s situation.

However, according to Bild, the genuine interest is arriving from Old Trafford, with Manchester United lining up a summer bid for Lewandowski.

The Red Devils will lose Edinson Cavani on a free transfer this summer, while Cristiano Ronaldo is expected to leave the Mancunian giants in the upcoming market.

Lewandowski has contributed 42 goals and four assists in 35 appearances for Bayern in all competitions.
