Man City to launch £50m for Leicester’s Harry Maguire?

Manchester City are believed to be considering a bid of up to £50m for Leicester City’s Harry Maguire, as the Citizens search for a centre-back continues.

The 24-year-old defender, who joined the Foxes from Hull City last year for £17m, has been one of the key players in Claude Puel’s side in the Premier League this term.

City boss Pep Guardiola is a huge admirer of the England international and The Sun claims that the centre-half is one of the club’s top targets.

The Man City manager already submitted an offer for Jonny Evans from West Bromwich Albion last summer, but the Premier League rivals Arsenal are allegedly the front-runners for his services.

Guardiola ideally wants a centre-back and Maguire fits the bill as he is eligible to play in the Champions League, in which the Manchester giants will face Basel in the last 16 next month.

The report adds, Maguire is high on the list due to his availability to play in the Champions League.
