Liverpool keen on signing Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins

Liverpool have reportedly “explored” the possibility of signing Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins, according to a report.

The 25-year-old joined the Villans from Brentford last summer and has netted 14 goals in his debut campaign at Villa Park.

Football Insider claims that the England international’s eye for goal, blistering pace and aerial ability have caught the attention of Liverpool scouts.

He can also operate out wide if required, meaning that the striker ticks every box the Merseyside giants are after for a new attacker this summer.

Watkins scored a hat-trick against Liverpool in a memorable 7-2 win last year.
