Chelsea keen on January mega move for PSG defender Marquinhos

The Premier League champions Chelsea are reportedly lining up a January move PSG defender Marquinhos, according to Le 10 Sport.

The Blues failed with two previous bids for the 21-year-old defender earlier this summer, with their second bid somewhere in the region of £30m rejected by the French champions.

However, It is understood that the Brazilian is still wanted by the English champions, with the club’s owner would reportedly sanction a huge money move for the South American centre-back.

Marquinhos has already admitted his disappointment at being third choice for the Parisians, behind compatriots David Luiz and Thiago Silva, and hasn’t ruled out a move away from the French capital.

It is believed that the Blues’ primary defensive target is still Everton’s John Stones, but a move for Marquinhos is seems to be viable option for the west Londoners.

No doubt, the arrival of Marquinhos to Stamford Bridge would strengthen Chelsea’s wobbly back line, which has come under huge criticism since the 2015-16 season start.

Jose Mourinho’s side are currently sit in 16th place in the league table, 10 points behind the leaders Manchester City.
