Chelsea Eye January Move for Barca Right Back Montoya

Chelsea are determined to bring Barcelona’s highly talented defender Martin Montoya, who is also a reported target of other English clubs, Arsenal and Liverpool, According to reports in the Sun.

The 22-year-old, right back has struggled to secure his place to regular berth at Camp Nou, due to the outstanding performance of Brazilian, Dani Alves.

The Spanish footballer, who made his debut as a Youth career in 1999, he will be a free agent after the end of the season.

Montoya’s agent, Jose Maria Orobitg, said: “For the moment he is under contract with FC Barcelona until the end of the season.

“We have talked but there is no certainty that Martin Montoya would hold down a first-team spot, because right now Daniel Alves closes the door.”

It is understood that either Chelsea could make a January move for Martin Montoya or after the end of the current season.
