Barcelona on the verge of signing Brazilian striker

Barcelona are reportedly expected to announce the signing of the Brazilian striker Luan Guilherme de Jesus Viera at the end of this week.

Premier League clubs – Liverpool and Leicester City have also been linked with the 23-year-old, who has emerged as the Catalans’ top summer target, according to Sport.

He is likely to move to the Nou Camp as cover for Barcelona star players Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar.

The Spanish outlet claims that the La Liga giants have negotiated discussions with the player’s agent and hope to finalise the transfer in the coming days.

Luan is considered one of the biggest prospects in South American football and is currently representing Brazil at the Rio 2016 Olympics, alongside Gabriel Jesus and Neymar.

Sport suggest that the youngster has already agreed to go ahead with this deal, stating that he has several offers from other European clubs, and his priority appears to move to the Barcelona.
