Arsenal leading the race for Jakub Jankto signature

Arsenal have emerged as number one suitors for Udinese midfielder Jakub Jankto, according to Calciomercato.

The Czech Republic international has been in impressive form this year in the Italian football following his breakout season last term, scoring twice in 13 appearances for the Serie A outfit.

Jankto, 21, is believed to have been on the north Londoners’ radar since the summer transfer window, although reports of a move to the Emirates at the beginning of the 2017-18 campaign were wide of the mark.

The report suggests, however, the Gunners have stepped up their interest and are in pole position ahead of Juventus and AC Milan to lure the midfielder to the Emirates Stadium.

He is being considered by manager Arsene Wenger due to the potential departure of Mesut Ozil.

Jankto racked up 43 appearances for the Zebrette, scoring seven times and registering six assists till now.
