According to reports, Arsenal have joined Chelsea in the pursuit of Montpellier striker Elye Wahi this summer.
Chelsea have identified Wahi as a key target and they are scheduled to hold talks with Montpellier in the coming week.
However, Foot Mercato suggests that the Gunners may also compete for the 20-year-old’s signature.
The North Londoners have been monitoring Wahi’s progress for the past year and are considering making a move for him. Interestingly, Wahi’s potential arrival at the Emirates Stadium could coincide with the departure of Folarin Balogun.
With Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah ahead of him in the selection order, Balogun has no guarantees of that at Arsenal. Consequently, it appears that Balogun may leave the Emirates in the upcoming weeks, and Wahi is being considered as his potential successor after an impressive 19-goal season in Ligue 1.
