Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain wanted by Man City in audacious January raid

Manchester City are lining up an audacious January move for Arsenal winger Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, according to The Sun.

The England international has 18 months left on his current contract at the Emirates and negotiations between the both parties over an extension are allegedly yet to begin.

The report suggests, City manager Pep Guardiola is considering a £25m move for Oxlade-Chamberlain this January, even though the Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has already made it clear the midfielder is not for sale under any circumstances.

Guardiola is a great fan of the 23-year-old midfielder after being impressed by his performance against Bayern Munich in 2014, and the Citizens are willing to offer him a significant pay rise from his current £70,000-a-week salary.

Oxlade-Chamberlain has appeared in 22 games for Arsenal this season.
