Man United Could Sell Leny Yoro in 2027 if Game Time Doesn’t Improve
Manchester United may entertain permanent bids for Leny Yoro next year if his lack of regular football under Michael Carrick continues, according to Football Insider.
Yoro’s Limited Minutes Raise Questions
The 20-year-old centre-back remains highly rated at Old Trafford, yet he has made only three starts this season. His latest outing came at right-back in the 1-1 draw with Tottenham, a role unlikely to be a long-term answer for a player signed with such huge expectations.
Former United chief scout Mick Brown believes a January loan could be considered if Carrick cannot offer more game time. A permanent exit is viewed as far less likely, although Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly monitoring the Frenchman and have the financial strength to test United’s resolve.
United’s Defensive Rebuild Adds Pressure
The timing is awkward, with the club expected to target a left-back, centre-back and right-back in the coming windows. Fresh arrivals would only increase the competition Yoro faces for a starting place, while regular use at right-back could slow his progress in his natural position.
Our Opinion: Patience Still Makes Sense
Signing a highly rated teenager for a big fee always carries risk, because potential alone does not make a defender. Yoro needs matches, mistakes and pressure to grow.
In our view, the worst scenario would be leaving him on the bench without a clear pathway. A loan looks like the sensible middle ground if Carrick cannot promise regular minutes. Selling would be a much bigger decision, and United should only consider it if they are convinced he cannot become a first-choice centre-back at Old Trafford.
