Arsenal consider loan offers for Per Mertesacker?
|Arsenal are reportedly willing to sell their long-serving defender Per Mertesacker on loan, according to a report.
The veteran centre-back is still sidelines from regaining full recovery following a season plagued by knee and calf issues.
Mertesacker, 32, has not featured for the north Londoners since he picked up the injury during pre-season in July and is running out of contract at the Emirates at the end of the current season.
The Times claims that the German defender is unlikely to feature again for the Gunners this term even if he recovers from his injury, as Koscielny, Mustafi and Paulista are all ahead of him in the pecking order.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is unlikely to offload Mertesacker to any other English club, however, and will instead consider offers from abroad.
