Zlatan Ibrahimovic to sign new Manchester United deal?
|Manchester United free agent Zlatan Ibrahimovic is set to sign a new contract as early as this week, according to ESPN.
Ibrahimovic, 35, who scored 28 times in 46 appearances in all competitions last season, saw his campaign ended by a cruciate knee ligament injury.
Although the Swede was released by United in the summer, and has been undergoing his rehabilitation at club’s AON Training Centre and appears to be recovering faster.
Manchester United board and the training staff believe that the talismanic striker is somehow fully recovered to fitness, and so his new United contract will be announced earlier than anticipated.
MLS outfit Los Angeles Galaxy were understood to be keen to sign Ibrahimovic in July, but he would prefer to return to Old Trafford.
