West Ham United lining up move for Isaac Romero

West Ham United are reportedly considering a €30 million move for Sevilla’s 24-year-old Spanish striker Isaac Romero ahead of Monday’s transfer deadline.

The Hammers have been actively seeking to bolster their attacking options due to injuries to key forwards Michail Antonio and Niclas Füllkrug. Currently, Danny Ings remains the sole fit centre-forward in manager Graham Potter’s squad.

Isaac Romero, a native of Lebrija, progressed through several Andalusian academies before rejoining Sevilla in July 2019. Initially playing for the club’s reserve teams, he made a significant impact in the 2023/24 season, earning a promotion to the first team. Since then, Romero has accumulated 35 appearances, contributing nine goals and six assists. His performances have not only been pivotal for Sevilla but have also attracted attention from clubs across Europe.

In addition to Romero, West Ham have secured a loan deal for Brighton’s 20-year-old striker, Evan Ferguson, until the end of the season. Ferguson is set to reunite with former Brighton boss Graham Potter at the London Stadium.

While the potential acquisition of Isaac Romero would further strengthen West Ham’s attacking lineup, it remains uncertain whether the club will finalise the €30 million deal before the transfer window closes. The addition of both Ferguson and Romero could provide the necessary depth and versatility in attack as the Hammers aim to navigate the challenges of the remainder of the season.
