Tottenham to step up efforts for Conor Gallagher signing

Tottenham Hotspur have stepped up their pursuit of Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher, despite facing several hurdles. According to Give Me Sport, Spurs remain keen on the England international and might ramp up their efforts to secure his services. Chelsea are open to offers but have set a steep asking price of £55 million, far higher than Spurs’ previous valuation of £35 million last summer.

Gallagher had a solid season, helping Chelsea maintain his market value, which they hope to leverage. Spurs’ interest has grown, especially as manager Ange Postecoglou seeks to reinforce his midfield, potentially in light of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg’s possible departure. Tottenham recently added Archie Gray from Leeds United, but Gallagher is seen as the final piece in Postecoglou’s midfield puzzle.

Chelsea’s £55 million demand is influenced by Manchester United’s purchase of Mason Mount last summer. However, Gallagher’s situation differs, as he faces competition from new signing Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and risks being sidelined. With just a year left on his contract, Chelsea might be compelled to sell, but only at their set price. Spurs may need to meet this valuation to finalise the deal.
