Top 40 UEFA Team Players 2013-14 Nominees List

UEFA have announced the nominees list for the TOP FORTY BEST PLAYERS ON THE CONTINENT. The nominees were chosen by UEFA.com on the basis of their performances.

After seeing the nominees list, i have figured out the most of the players are from the Bundesliga leaders The Bavarians.

Number of players from different clubs among Top 40 Nominees List.

Bayern Munich have Nine players.

Real Madrid, Paris Saint Germain and Borussia Dortmund have Four players each.

Juventus, Atletico Madrid and Manchester City have Three players each.

Chelsea, Manchester United and Barcelona have Two players each.

FC Porto, Monaco, SL Benfica and Arsenal have one player each.

The Nominees lists includes 40 players: 4 Goalkeepers, 12 Strikers, 12 Midfielders and 12 Defenders.

GOALKEEPERS – Petr Cech (Chelsea), Thibaut Courtois (Atletico Madrid), David de Gea (Manchester United), Manuel Neuer (Bayern Munich).

STRIKERS – Sergio Aguero (Manchester City), Edinson Cavani (Paris Saint Germain), Diego Costa (Atletico Madrid), Falcao (Monaco), Zlatan Ibrahimovic (Paris Saint Germain), Robert Lewandowski (Borussia Dortmund), Mario Mandzukic (Bayern Munich), Jackson Martinez (FC Porto), Lionel Messi (Barcelona), Thomas Muller (Bayern Munich), Cristiano Ronaldo (Real Madrid), Robin van Persie (Manchester United).

MIDFIELDERS – Gareth Bale (Real Madrid), Ilkay Gundogan (Borussia Dortmund), Isco (Real Madrid), Paul Pogba (Juventus), Mesut Ozil (Arsenal), Menaja Matic (SL Benfica), Blaise Matuidi (Paris Saint Germain), Marco Reus (Borussia Dortmund), Franck Ribery (Bayern Munich), Arjen Robben (Bayern Munich), Bastian Schweinsteiger (Bayern Munich), Yaya Toure (Manchester City).

DEFENDERS – David Alaba ((Bayern Munich), Giorgio Chiellini (Juventus), Dante (Bayern Munich), Mats Hummels (Borussia Dortmund), Branislav Ivanovic (Chelsea), Philipp Lahm (Bayern Munich), Stephan Lichtsteiner (Juventus), Filipe Luis (Atletico Madrid), Vincent Kompany (Manchester City), Gerard Pique (Barcelona), Sergio Ramos (Real Madrid), Thiago Silva (Paris Saint Germain).

 

However, Real Madrid highly-rated goalkeeper Iker Casillas has not been included to the nominees list, plus not even a single english player, (except Gareth Bale) has made it to the list.
