Newcastle United plot summer move for Charles De Ketelaere
|AC Milan midfielder Charles De Ketelaere has reportedly emerged as a transfer target for Newcastle United.
The Belgian wonderkid has been labeled as a flop with a valuation of €30 million. Calciomercatoweb claims that Milan are keen to sell the struggling playmaker to Newcastle United during the upcoming transfer window in order to recover a fee in the region of €30 million.
The 21-year-old has struggled to make an impact in Serie A, failing to score and only recording one assist in 26 appearances across all competitions. He has found it challenging to adjust to Stefano Pioli’s tactics, resulting in inconsistent performances that have only displayed a few glimpses of his quality.
Moreover, Milan expected him to deliver instant results, adding to the pressure. Consequently, there are reports that the Italian giants are keen to offload the Belgian to Newcastle in the summer for a reduced fee of approximately €30 million.
Newcastle United’s owners are keen on acquiring the young talent that can grow and develop with the team.
Newcastle currently occupying fourth place in the Premier League standings and set to compete for major trophy in the Carabao Cup final later this month.
