Man United step up efforts to sign Marc-Andre Ter Stegen to replace David de Gea
Manchester United will reportedly weighing up a summer move for Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen, if they lose David De Gea to Real Madrid.
De Gea, 27, has been heavily linked with a return to his homeland in recent seasons and according to Spanish outlet Don Balon, United head-coach Jose Mourinho believes that Marc-Andre Ter Stegen from Barcelona is the ideal man to replace him this summer.
The report adds that the Red Devils want £88m for their Spaniard stopper, and would use that money to fund their raid for the German goalkeeper, who has been considered as one of the strongest goalkeepers for the Catalan outfit.
Los Blancos are planning an overhaul of the squad ahead of next season, with a new stopper allegedly a top priority for club’s coach Zinedine Zidane.
Barcelona sit unbeaten at the top of La Liga after 25 games.
