Man United negotiating summer transfer for Alvaro Morata

Manchester United’s pursuit of a new striker is heating up, with Alvaro Morata emerging as a potential target. According to reports from Sabah via Sport Witness, the Red Devils are discussing a move for the Spanish captain, who has a modest €12 million release clause in his Atletico Madrid contract. The club’s interest stems from INEOS’s plan to sign a striker to support Rasmus Hojlund.

Morata, a well-traveled forward, has a track record of delivering crucial goals. Last season, he scored 21 goals in all competitions for Atletico Madrid. Despite two years left on his contract, Atletico seems willing to part ways, especially with their teenage sensation Samu Omorodion set to join the first team next season.

While Morata’s experience and goal-scoring prowess make him an attractive option, Manchester United’s transfer policy might lean towards younger talents. The club has shown interest in Bologna’s Joshua Zirkzee, a 22-year-old Dutch striker with a promising future, aligning better with United’s long-term vision.

Though Morata’s name brings a sense of nostalgia and proven quality, the Red Devils appear more inclined towards a youthful, future-proof option to complement Hojlund. With several clubs, including Juventus, also eyeing Morata, it remains to be seen if Manchester United will make a move or opt for a different striker profile.
