Levi Colwill set to depart Chelsea?
|According to Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea have no intention of letting go of Levi Colwill despite interest from Brighton & Hove Albion.
Colwill, who came through Chelsea’s youth system, had a successful loan spell with Brighton last season.
Brighton now wants to secure him permanently, but Chelsea have no intention of selling the player.
Romano reports that the Blues have turned down an initial £30m offer from Brighton and a new £40m offer is expected.
It is anticipated that the West Londoners will reject the upcoming proposal as well, as they consider the young centre-back to be not for sale.
Colwill gained valuable experience with Brighton and is likely to make his debut for Chelsea in the upcoming season.
While he may not be guaranteed a starting position, new manager Mauricio Pochettino could use him in rotation.
Colwill, 20, could be viewed as a long-term replacement for Thiago Silva, who may retire after the next season.
