Dominic Calvert-Lewin targeted by West Ham United

West Ham United are knocking on Everton’s door, eyeing their star striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin amid interest from Newcastle United. According to Football Insider, the Hammers are keen to bolster their attacking options this summer and have made inquiries about Calvert-Lewin’s availability given his uncertain future at Everton.

Calvert-Lewin, who joined Everton in 2016 from Sheffield United for a modest £1.5 million, has featured in nearly 250 matches and netted 68 goals. However, injuries have hampered his progress. Despite playing 36 league games last season, he managed only seven goals, casting doubts over his form.

With his contract set to expire in 12 months and renewal talks stalling, multiple Premier League clubs are circling. West Ham and Newcastle are keen to capitalise on his situation, eyeing a potential bargain deal. Newcastle’s earlier discussions with Everton didn’t bear fruit, but their interest remains strong.

West Ham, under Julen Lopetegui, are eager to strengthen their squad. They’ve already signed Max Kilman and Luis Guilherme and are now targeting Calvert-Lewin. Despite his recent struggles, the 27-year-old striker’s experience makes him an attractive proposition, and a move could rejuvenate his career while providing the Hammers with a valuable asset.
