Bayern Munich striker to join Manchester United?

Bayern Munich striker Thomas Muller has been told by their chief Karl-Heinz Rummenigge if he wants to leave for Manchester United this summer, according to reports from the Daily Mail.

The Red Devils are likely to appoint Louis van Gaal for their next manager after the finals of Fifa World Cup tournament in Brazil.

The report claims that the former Ajax and Barcelona manager Van Gaal is keen to bring Muller to Old Trafford as the club’s top priority, and a £37m bid would be sufficient to lure Bundesliga champions to sell him.

The Germany international is still under contract with the club until 2017. He has been in excellent form this season and the 24-year-old has scored 25 goals in 49 games in all competitions.

Muller’s team-mate Toni Kroos is also under United’s radar for the summer transfer.
