Aston Villa: Christian Benteke out for six months
|Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke has been ruled for six months with a serious achilles tendon injury, the club’s official website announced.
Unfortunately, the Belgium international will miss the rest of the season and will miss the summer 2014 World Cup in Brazil. He has been in a regular first-team at Belgium’s squad.
The Belgium and Man City skipper Vincent Kompany, reacted to this and posted his support via Twitter.

Villa manager Paul Lambert said: “It’s a terrible blow both for Christian and for the club.
“But he’ll work hard because that’s what he does and he’ll come back for us stronger than ever next season.”
Benteke, 23, joined Villa in August 2012 from Belgian club Genk in a £7m deal. He has netted 11 times this season for the Villans.
