Arsenal sign Jorginho from Chelsea

The Premier League leaders Arsenal have confirmed the deadline day signing of Jorginho on an 18-month deal from Chelsea.

The 31-year-old joined the Gunners in a deal said to be worth around £12m, putting pen to paper on a contract that will keep him at the Emirates Stadium until the summer of 2024.

The Brazil-born Italy international will wear the number 20 shirt for Arsenal, and set to make his debut against Everton on Saturday’s Premier League action.

Jorginho joins the North Londoners after four-and-a-half years at Chelsea, during which he made 213 appearances for the Blues, netting 29 goals.

The midfielder previously played for Napoli before moving to Chelsea and had been heavily linked with a move to Manchester City.
