Ibrahim Maza Transfer News: Arsenal and Tottenham Step Up Interest

Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly intensified their pursuit of Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Ibrahim Maza, with Chelsea also keeping tabs on the Algeria international. TEAMtalk claims both North London clubs are now closely assessing the 20-year-old, who has become one of the Bundesliga’s most exciting young creators.

Ibrahim Maza’s Leverkusen and Algeria Form

Maza arrived from Hertha BSC in the summer of 2025 and has since netted 15 times in 49 appearances. This season he has registered one goal and two assists in five matches. On international duty, he scored and set up another in Algeria’s 3-1 victory over Zambia in Africa Cup of Nations qualifying.

The playmaker thrives in the half-spaces, collecting possession between the lines before turning and driving at defenders. His awareness of space and ability to link play in dangerous areas have made him increasingly important for Leverkusen.

Why Arsenal Could Move for Maza

Arsenal already have Martin Odegaard and Eberechi Eze competing for the number ten role, so Maza would be a long-term investment rather than an immediate starter. Even so, his ability to play centrally or out wide would give Mikel Arteta valuable depth across several competitions.

Tottenham and Chelsea Join the Race

Spurs have struggled for creativity and cutting edge in the final third, an area where Maza could make an instant impact. Chelsea, meanwhile, are still following his progress and could yet complicate matters for their London rivals.

Opinion: Who Suits Maza Best?

In my view, Tottenham stand to benefit most from his arrival, as they need a creative spark and could offer regular minutes. Arsenal’s crowded attacking midfield may limit his opportunities, at least initially. Chelsea’s record of recruiting young talent means they should never be written off, and it will be intriguing to see whether Leverkusen demand a premium for such a promising player.
