Twitter reacts to Martial’s performance at Manchester derby
|Man United and Man City have fought to a goalless draw for the first time in five years on Sunday afternoon at Old Trafford but once again the Frenchman Anthony Martial impressed for the Red Devils.
Manchester United are already favourites for the league title. The 20-time English champions aren’t resting on their laurels though, and have determined to face any challenges upfront this season.
The 19-year-old forward has now scored five goals in all competitions since joining the 20-time English champions from AS Monaco on transfer deadline day.
Martial was one of the best performers against the Citizens. However, he wasn’t able to earn all three points against Manuel Pellegrini’s side.
But fans were still delighted with his performance and have expressed their thoughts on Twitter.
Disappointing derby, really. Martial best player by a fair distance…

Martial was brilliant whenever the ball came to him. Playing him out of position to accommodate Rooney, who does nothing, is mental.

Yet, it’s still incredible how Martial was played out of position yet produced a solid performance. Sky is the limit for the kid.

Martial’s vision was superb there. Unlucky that Lingard didn’t score.

Woeful football in that one, but Martial’s one of those players who’s just enjoyable to watch. Commits defenders & stuff actually happens.

Will be interesting to hear how Van Gaal justifies selecting Rooney up front instead of Martial. Looked absolutely shot at times.

Martial isn’t a waste of money. You know what’s a waste of money? Playing him on the wing.

Genuinely feel that we would have won that game if Martial was upfront. He’s not just a presence, he is a living nightmare for defenders.

Martial was again brilliant and Lindegards cameo was excellent also. Great prospects of youth at United at mo. Memphis will come good
