When you look at some of the great English players in recent times you look at both Liverpool and Chelsea as the incredible careers of both Gerrard and Lampard. They were a huge asset to both clubs and continued to perform on the big stage. You can bet on Liverpool v Chelsea as the key clash between the two sides takes place in November.

Gerrard came up through the ranks at Liverpool and played there for almost all his professional playing career before a final season in the US for LA Galaxy. He finished his time at Liverpool with an incredible tally of 504 appearances in which he scored 120 goals. This was further backed up by the vast number of extremely important goals he scored for the club in both Europe and in the Premier League. He also had a long career in England which resulted in 114 caps and meant he became the fourth most capped player in history.

Lampard, on the other hand, came up through the ranks of West Ham before he moved over to Chelsea. He also made 148 appearances for West Ham’s first team and scored 24 goals. He moved to Chelsea in 2001 and began his extremely successful 13 years at the club. The three-time Chelsea player of the year winner made a record 429 appearances in which he scored an incredible 211 goals in all competitions.
